iPhone 17 Rumors: What's Coming This September?
Jul 1, 2025 • Onoja • Phones

As Apple enthusiasts, we always eagerly anticipate the annual September event. The question on everyone's mind is, are the rumors about the iPhone 17 true?
We've had enough speculation about the release of the iPhone 17 in September, with new models, such as the iPhone 17 Air. With a slimmer design,
The iPhone 17 Air is the one to watch, with its unique and sleek one-camera design, a departure from anything Apple has done before.
And I would be getting it, against its base version, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The design of the iPhone 17 still aligns with its predecessor, the iPhone 16, most especially its base version.
If you should ask me, it has no difference; with its signature camera button to its dual camera system, it looks exactly like the iPhone 16, which, in my opinion, would significantly affect its sales, my opinion though, as I noticed that Apple users always prefer a newer design, as with the base version of the iPhone 14, which significantly looked like the iPhone 13. However, the base version of the iPhone 17 is rumored to come in two fresh colors: purple (lavender or lilac) and green. It's still not a guaranteed hit to me.
However, the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are reportedly coming with a new rear camera design, which is also eye-catching.
I like the rumored design of its new long-frame camera, as it stretches from frame to frame. I hope it's a hit when released. However, Signature 16 has only a few changes to the camera design, which is still a cool feature.
Here's a catch: as a lover of the titanium body frame of Apple, Apple might have just hit me with one because it's reported that Apple might be changing its body build from natural titanium to an aluminum frame. When using the iPhone 15 to 16 series, the fact that the natural titanium design doesn't attract scratches is a game changer, as Apple has not had a good track record with aluminum frame designs.
Although this is rumored to be exclusive to the base version, Pro, and Pro Max, the iPhone 17 Air is still rumored to feature a natural titanium frame, which is a game-changer.
Now, spec-wise, what are we to expect?
These changes could significantly enhance the user experience, making the iPhone 17 series a compelling upgrade. We noticed some notable changes on the iPhone 17 as compared to the iPhone 16, so let's list out a couple of significant changes, which include

This is a basic comparison between the iPhone 15 series and the iPhone 16 series; although most of these specs are rumored specs, I will be pointing out the major changes in the iPhone 17 series
First is the vapor cooling on the pro models of the iPhone 17. If you have been using the pro models of the iPhone, you would have possibly encountered overheating when performing high-end tasks such as gaming and others, but this Vaporcooling is a big game-changer if added as a simple yet effective method of keeping your device in check
Another notable change is the upgrade from a 12MP front camera to a rumored 24MP front camera on all models. This significant leap in camera technology promises to deliver stunning selfies and video calls. The iPhone 17 also introduces 8 K video recording, a feature previously limited to high-end professional cameras. However, this feature is rumored to be available only on the Pro Max model, which could be a limitation for some users.
Regarding its chipset, the iPhone 17 is expected to come with the A18, A19, and A19 Pro (3 nm and 2 nm) chipsets. We can't ascertain how powerful this will be till its launch.
Although it is rumored that Apple will discontinue its Plus models, the new Air models will be a significant change; a slimmer design with a rumored powerful battery will fill the gap.
So, will you be getting the iPhone 17 after its release?
I'm personally excited about the iPhone 17 Air because of its fresh design and the promise of a sleek, ultra-thin profile.
